The Kitchen Project

The Foundation’s latest project is to build a more modern kitchen at the Kilimanjaro School. Currently, the school’s live-in cook, Teresia, begins every day at 4:30 a.m. preparing meals for 200 children over a wood stove in a small and smoky room. The new kitchen will improve the efficiency of meal preparation and sanitary conditions, with an overall goal to create a healthy environment where staff can work safely to give children the nutrition they need.

Update: The Kitchen Project

Your Contribution In Action
October 23, 2023

IT'S OFFICIAL! Thanks to the generosity of our donors, the Kilimanjaro Children's Foundation school has a brand-new kitchen and learning space! The newly constructed kitchen improves the efficiency of meal preparation, creating a healthy environment where staff can work safely to provide children with the nutrition they need. Our students are beyond excited to learn and grow in this new space!

Looking for more ways to support the Foundation? Consider donating to our "Nourish and Flourish” initiative. Your generous contribution will go toward stocking our new kitchen's pantry with wholesome and nutritious meals and help transform our new learning and wellness space into an environment where students can flourish.
