The Kitchen Project

The Foundation’s latest project is to build a more modern kitchen at the Kilimanjaro School. Currently, the school’s live-in cook, Teresia, begins every day at 4:30 a.m. preparing meals for 200 children over a wood stove in a small and smoky room. The new kitchen will improve the efficiency of meal preparation and sanitary conditions, with an overall goal to create a healthy environment where staff can work safely to give children the nutrition they need.

Reflections and Gratitude 2024

Reflections and Gratitude 2024

December 20, 2024

As we approach the end of 2024, we take this opportunity to reflect on a year filled with growth, transformation, and gratitude. We are deeply thankful for the dedication and vision of our directors, whose leadership has played a pivotal role in transforming our school into a vibrant, nurturing environment where children can learn, play, and thrive.

We also extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed donations to support the Kilimanjaro Children’s Foundation (KCF) school in Moshi, Tanzania. Your generosity has made a tremendous impact, resulting in:

  • Freshly painted classrooms adorned with colorful and inspiring artwork, fostering a love for learning.
  • Renovated facilities with newly tiled washrooms and staff accommodations, enhancing cleanliness and comfort.
  • New playground equipment, such as swings and other outdoor games, bringing joy and excitement to our students during playtime.

These achievements have brought positive and lasting changes to our school, and we are immensely proud of the progress we’ve made together.

As the year comes to a close, the school is now on holiday break. Our students are spending cherished time with their parents and guardians, while our dedicated staff enjoys a well-earned rest. During this time, we remain committed to maintaining the school facilities, particularly as we enter the rainy season.

Looking Ahead

We are thrilled to share that registration for new students is underway! So far, we have welcomed over 60 new children aged 3 to 5 years old. In addition, we are proudly promoting 64 students to first grade as they turn six and seven years old, marking the culmination of their three wonderful years with us.

In 2024, we registered over 75 students, and we look forward to building on this growth in 2025. Our commitment remains steadfast in ensuring KCF continues to be a place where children are seen, safe, and encouraged to reach for the stars.

As we prepare for an exciting year ahead, we wish you a joyful holiday season and a prosperous New Year. Thank you for your unwavering support and belief in our mission.
